After a state semi-final appearance last season, the Eagles have had a hard time getting the ball rolling this year, and remain winless through five contests.

Senior Center Garrett Kastelic explains some of the struggles as ” I think it’s just our maturity, this year we only have one returning starter.” The young team only has five seniors, and depends on younger players, some starters and some coming off the bench, to help them try and win games.

“Last year we had Grayson Murphy, and he was one of a kind, but this year we don’t have a Grayson.” Murphy was an absolute force last year, the Belmont Commit would single-handedly take over games, hitting clutch shots, and at some times bailing his team out of situations, said Kastelic.

This year however, the Eagles can’t rely on a single player to stuff the stat sheet and win games for them; they have to play together.

Led by Point Guard Mac James (Sr.), Shooting Guard/ Small Forward Carson Roberts(Sr.),  Forwards/Centers Garrett Kastelic (Sr.) and Jackson Ham (Sr.), along with Shooting Guard Preston Garner(Jr.), the Eagles look to turn their season around for the better and start making wins a regular thing for them.
