An Independence girl’s basketball member was spotted this week at Independence’s basketball’s first game of the season. Even though the girls lost to Stewart’s Creek, it was only by a mere five points. With a new coach and better team energy, this year’s girls basketball team should definitely show some improvement.

Jill Murrah, Indy senior, comments on this season “I definitely believe that we’re going to do much better this year than we have in the past. I like our new coach a lot. I think that she’s really going to help us a lot this year with our development as a team, especially in these next couple of years. I’ve really noticed that our team attitude and energy has changed a lot since our past seasons. I feel that I’ve improved over the years, even with my school workload and my after school job.”

Kelsey Dickson and Amy Tang, Jill’s team members says “Jill is really great. She’s amazing and we look up to her.”
