Which is better: Franklin or Spring Hill?

Students attending Independence High School live in opposite directions of Declaration Way: Franklin and Spring Hill. Students were asked if they prefer to hang out on the weekends, and here are the results:

After interviewing 20 students from Independence High School, it was a close call determining the winner.

The interview concluded that eight students preferred to hang out in Franklin, while 12 students chose Spring Hill as their go-to hang out place. Starting with the popular vote, Spring Hill offers many areas for entertainment on the weekend. A drive through the city will reveal that residents can find many pop culture venues perfect for teenagers. Looking for a place to eat something sweet? Andy’s Frozen Custard is a great place to stop, along with “Culver’s” says junior Emily Troseter.

Spring Hill also offers great places to get energy out. Harvey Park has playgrounds, picnic tables, bike trails, walking trails, and a pavilion for large gatherings. It’s the perfect spot for an event because Harvey Park has multiple places for grilling.

Craving a dip in the pool or a bit of excersize? Independence High School students know how to help: head over to Longview Recreation Center for after school swim.

The Spring Hill movie theater, AMC Spring Hill 12, is a hot spot for hangouts along with The Crossings of Spring Hill to go shopping at Target and many other stores available. So heading to the north, Indy students also find a good time.

Looking for places to hang out in Franklin? Students can usually be found in “Downtown Franklin or the [Coolsprings Galleria] Mall” says Alayna Biggs, a freshman at IHS. Downtown Franklin is a great place to hang out with any group of people. Not only does it offer tours for stories and history from the Civil War, but also unique southern eats and antique shops.

Franklin is similar to Spring Hill, students go to the Franklin Recreation Complex after school for work as lifeguards and for yoga classes.

Coolsprings Galleria Mall is a great place to meet up with friends to go shopping and have a bite to eat at the foodcourt or even the Cheesecake Factory–an amzing resteraunt if you feel like dressing up.

Close to the Coolsprings Galleria, is Carmike Cinemas. This movie theater just had a make over and is a very popular hang out.

Target is also available to those who live in Franklin, next a complex of eats such as Panera Bread, Dominos Pizza, Fulin’s Asain Cuisine, and many more.

Franklin and Spring Hill have an abundance of things in common, both have so much to offer to people of all ages. If you are ever sitting in your house on a Saturday, get up off your couch, grab a few friends and visit either one of these amazing cities for loads of fun!
